AROUND TOWN Oprah fever has officially hit Sydney,with the television queen and her 302-strong audience taking the city by storm. On the itinerary last week: avisit to the Blue Mountains, wine tasting in the Hunter Valley,and surfing and kayaking with dolphins in Byron Bay.Yesterday entailed a Harbour Bridge climb and avisit to Bondi beach to meet the Bondi Rescue boys. To day sees activities on the harbour,but it’stomorrow whereall the action’s at. Tw oshows will be taped at the Sydney Opera House, each with about 6000 audience members. Of the more than 350,000 total requests for tickets to the tapings, 95 per cent weregiven to Aussie residents. Confirmed guests include some of the biggest names in Australia – Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban confirmed, and rumours Prime Minister Julia Gillard will make an appearance. According to PR, the Oprah show will also make some lucky Aussies’ wildest dreams come true. An additional show will comprise footage taped from around Australia from both the audience and Oprah’sexcursions. Then on Wednesday,rumour has it that after the Bon Jovi shindig at Star City (correction from last week’sissue –it’sthis Wednesday! Oops!) Oprah will hold her own VIP party,with 300 fans enjoying the likes of U2, Bob Geldof, Russell Crowe, James Packer, Lachlan and Sarah Murdoch, and Hugh Jackman.
